About Me

I am a qualified counsellor based in Southampton, offering private counselling to anyone over the age of 18. I hold registered membership of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) as well as accredited registrant membership of the National Counselling Society (NCS). I abide by the BACP Ethical Framework. and the NCS Code of Ethics and Complaints Procedure.

I have considerable experience of working with people who are facing a range of issues, including anxiety, loss and trauma. I have counselled clients through a local charity and in the higher education sector. I also provide a counselling service for students at a further education college in Hampshire and I am a certified Mental Health First Aider. Before becoming a counsellor I worked as a teacher and manager in further education.

The main approach that I use in my counselling is Gestalt. This means that I focus on the whole person, including your thoughts, feelings and sensations. It is also very interactive, so I will share my thoughts and feelings with you when appropriate and if it seems useful for you.

I work in a way that is flexible in order to suit your individual needs and I encourage regular feedback on how the work is progressing to help you get the most out of the sessions.

My commitment to undertaking regular personal and professional development ensures that I practise in a safe and effective way.
